Don't Give Up The Ship!

Such was the slogan on Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry's naval standard at the Battle of Lake Erie during the War of 1812. Ultimately, American forces prevailed in that battle, fought on September 10, 1813. A British invasion of the United States was averted and the independence of the young republic was preserved.


With Obama's victory, many conservatives (like me) will be feeling depressed in the coming days, weeks, and months, but tomorrow is another day and we can and will continue the struggle.

The fight is not over. There will be other elections, and all Americans who love freedom must fight on to ensure that our nation does not devolve into a socialist backwater like so many European nations have.

Don't give in to despair. Don't give up the ship!
